Grandpa's New Toy

Ryan and Grandpa Chenery went today to pick up his new toy. Her name is Shelby! Take a look at the pictures! Enjoy and be safe Grandpa! By the way, Matthew is wondering if he will get the keys for his second birthday?

An update...sort of

No new information to report unfortunately. Ryan took a day training and another day of testing to qualify to work at the nuclear power plant. He passed all his tests and has filled out all his paperwork to work there. Now we are waiting for the call for the shut down out there. When it comes, he will work twelve hour days for seven days a week for one to two months straight. Add in an hour of driving each way and it will be a long day for him. In no way are we complaining though...we are welcoming the fact of work and can't wait for the phone to ring. Since he is qualifies to work at Palasades, he is also qualified to work at Cooks, which is another nuclear plant on the lake shore. Hopefully these few shut downs will hold us over until more work in town picks up. All we can do now is wait and keep our fingers crossed.

As for Matthew, he continues to be a ball of fire and fun! He is learning to jump off the ground and jump forward and loves to throw balls overhand at the dogs and us. He has a new found love for Wheel of Fortune and will drop everything to watch it. He could care less any other time of the day if the television is on, but once he hears that opening noise or the wheel, he starts clapping with the contestants and laughing and cheering when they win a puzzle. He is slowly starting to add sounds with real words, but still have his imaginary language that he uses quite frequently. He loves telephones and cell phones and recently got a demo cell phone from Aunt Sarah that opens up to text. Matthew loves to text Aunt Sarah when he gets home. Luckily it doesn't work, or else we would have a very high cell phone bill! Other than that we are enjoying our time as a family and the warmer weather allowed us to have a few wagon walks with the dogs around the block.
