Keepin' busy

Sorry about the long pause in our entries, we have had a very exciting and eventful few weeks. Last weekend, we went to the suburbs of Chicago to see Matthew's Great-Grandma Genisio. We also saw Matthew's second cousins Bella and Gianna as well as my aunt, uncle and two cousins. We had a great time and it was Matthew's first trip out of state and hotel stay. This past weekend, I was in Ann and Greg's beautiful wedding. Matthew spent the weekend at Grandma and Grandpa Genisio's house.

Matthew has been drooling nonstop for the past few weeks and now we can see some whites on the front of his gums. It will be only a month or so until those teeth pop through! As we come up to Matthew's five month "birthday" we reflect on the past few months and how they have literally flown by! It seems like yesterday I was bringing him to daycare for the beginning of the school year and I am already a quarter of the way done with this year (Record's Day are Friday)! For Halloween we are celebrating with family at our house, passing out candy and playing with Matthew in his costume. I will post some photos after Halloween of our little giraffe! In the meantime, enjoy some photos from our trip to Schaumburg last weekend.

Four month check-up

Matthew had his four month shots today. Here are his measurements:

Weight: 14 lbs. 5.5 oz. (50%)
Length: 24 inches (25%)
Head: 16 5/8" (50%)

He handled the shots fine, but I think he is getting sore tonight, because he has been very fussy and when I move him to nurse, he screams. We gave him some Tylenol and his is off to bed now. That's all for now, take care!

Gull Meadow Farms

We went to Gull Meadow Farms today, despite the rain, and had a good time. We want to make this a yearly tradition. Matthew will be able to do many more things there in the upcoming years, like the 40 foot tube slide, the in-ground trampoline and the kiddie corn maze. It was way too wet to go on a tractor ride, but maybe next year. We were able to get some good fall photos of Matthew and a couple of the three of us. We got our pumpkins and Matthew one too. All in all, it was a good day! Visit our photo site to see more pictures from the farm.

Last night Matthew had his first sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa Genisio's house. Ryan and I went to the MSU night game (it started at 7:00) and got home really late, so they took Matthew and Norm for the night. It was very weird to come home in the middle of the night to an empty and quiet house. When I got up this morning I went to check on Matthew and it was weird not having him in his crib.

Such a happy boy!

Matthew continues to enjoy being a baby! He is always smiling, laughing and enjoying every minute. Yesterday I had a baby "screaming" conversation with Matthew. He was not screaming out of anger, he was exploring his voice and the noise that comes out of it. Each time he "said" something, I would copy it and he thought that was just so cool and funny. We did it back and forth for a few minutes. He is now big enough to sit in his high chair at the dinner table while we eat. We used to put him in the bouncer, but I think he is getting too active and heavy to be on our table. He played with some toys in his high chair, mainly making lots of noise banging things on his tray. We still won't start any solids for six months though. That is about it for updates in the Chenery house! We are visiting Gull Meadow Farms this weekend, look for an update after Sunday (pictures too). We didn't go last weekend, it was way too hot to have him at the farm. By the way...those chubby cheecks are so much fun to kiss and pinch and love!

4 months old and kickin'

When I say kickin', I mean kickin'! Matthew has discovered his feet all of the sudden and is constantly kicking them. He kicks in his bouncer, Bumbo, crib, on his tummy, back, basically everywhere. He really LOVES to kick in the tub, sending water all over me and him! He gets a thrill in my reaction...a much better reaction then when he goes potty in the tub (luckily we have only experienced #1 in the tub). We are taking him to the pumpkin patch/apple orchard this weekend for some fun photos. It should be a great day!

I added some new photos as well of his 4 month birthday. Enjoy them!
