New pictures

I posted three new albums to our photo site. They are from Matthew' s first Red Wings game, Easter and random April photos. Matthew loved the hockey game. We were invited by the Brinks to enjoy some free tickets the day before Easter. The seats were great and the boys loved the game. Easter was nice too. We enjoyed a brunch in the morning with family and then an Easter egg hunt in the afternoon.

Matthew had his follow-up with the ENT last Friday and passed his hearing test. His tubes look good and his ears are dry for now. His speech is coming along wonderfully and he is saying and expressing new things daily. He is putting words together to form simple sentences, which helps with his frustration levels. We haven't had many, if any, meltdowns from us not understanding what he wants.

Matthew surprised us the other night while in the bath. He started pulling out his foam letters and naming them. I thought the first couple were just luck, so I pulled some out and to my amazement he could name them. They work on them some at daycare, but Matthew's attention span along with Wes's usually puts them to play instead of letter work. They sing a lot and Matthew has been singing the ABC song at home all the time. We came to the conclusion that it was from watching Wheel of Fortune. He usually calls out the letters after the contestant calls them out, but now if we pause the TV, he is able to read us the letters on the puzzle. The funny moment was when he was reading the letters "VISA" and when I asked him what it said, he replied "Elmo!". Everything spells Elmo in our house :) In addition to his letters, Matthew can independently count to ten and sometimes to fifteen, not not consistently. Now we will work on identifying the numbers as well.

Andrew continues to grow and is now 12 weeks old. The bigger he gets, the more he looks like Matthew. His cheeks are getting chubbier and his legs too. He is all smiles and coos. We have also started to get little giggles out of him when he is really smiling big. He sleeps for about 10-12 hours at night now just like his brother did at this age. Nursing is going well and I continue to pump three times a day at school. I don't get much else done on my breaks, but oh well. I love having two boys and I am sure that this is it and I don't want or desire to have another. A lot of people ask if I am going to try for that girl and I quickly reply "No! with my luck I will have ten boys". If the outcome of my boys would have been different (meaning two girls or one of each) I would have been completely happy as long as my kids are healthy and happy, but this is the life I was dealt and I love it.
